SUMMER PROGRAMS 2021
RECREATION NEWS
For the 15th anniversary of the award-winning PECO Green Region Program (which has provided more than $2 million in funding to preserve, protect, and improve open space), there was a "Bonus Round" of grants awarded to local municipalities. Ridley Township was honored to be a recipient of $10,000 for our tree planting project. We now have 19 new Sunset Red Maple trees and 1 Sycamore tree planted at Ridley Township Municipal Park. We were able to accomplish this via the hard-working efforts of our Second Ward Commissioner, Tom Donahue, and Peg Whelan, director of our parks and recreation department. We hope residents and the surrounding community enjoy the results of this project for years to come.
