Here are a few helpful hints:
-
WEDNESDAY is Recycling Day in Ridley Township
-
Recycling MUST be placed at the curb by 7 a.m.
-
DO NOT put recycling in plastic bags
Recyclable materials: Cartons, aluminum, and metal cans including #1,#2,#4,#5,#7 plastic food & beverage containers (caps removed), phone books, newspapers, magazines, brochures & inserts (no plastic bags), paperboard boxes (cereal, pasta & tissue), greeting cards, regular & junk mail, glass bottles & jars, file folders, loose metal jar lids & steel bottle caps, paper towel rolls, and paperback books. No need to remove paper clips, stamps, address labels, staples, metal fasteners, cellophane address windows, rubber bands, spiral bindings, or plastic tabs.
Do not place scrap metal, plastic bags, plastic lids & caps, plastic 6-pack holders, needles or syringes, plastic microwave trays, window panes, mirrors, ceramics & Pyrex dishware, paint, pesticides, oil & cleansers, stickers or address label sheets, waxed paper or waxed cardboard, styrofoam or paper to-go containers, organic material, and food waste or electronic waste (batteries, cell phones, etc.) out with your recycling.
Latex paint is NOT a hazardous waste.
In order to safely dispose of latex paint, solidify the paint before placing it out with your trash. Simply take the top off the can and place it outside, away from children and pets, and allow it to harden. If the can is very full, place kitty litter in the can and stir until all the paint is absorbed. Empty, lidless cans should be placed in a box and put out with your regular trash.
