Residents are asked to have their trash/recycling containers out curbside by 7:00 a.m. on their scheduled days. Receptacles may not be placed out at the curb more than twelve (12) hours before the scheduled collection. Receptacles must be removed from the curb by midnight on the day of collection. Violators are subject to fines ranging from $25 to $1,000. Please make sure the lids on your containers are secured so the contents do not blow around during inclement weather.
BULK TRASH COLLECTION
For pick-up and disposal of refrigerators, air conditioners, and any item containing freon, there is a charge of $30 per item. For pick-up and disposal of washers, dryers, dishwashers, water heaters, or any metal appliance, there is a charge of $20.00 for the first item, $10.00 for each additional item scheduled for the same day.
To schedule a pick-up, you may mail a check or visit the Ridley Township Building (100 E. MacDade Blvd., Folsom, PA 19033). If you send a check, be sure to include a note with your name, the pickup address, your phone number, and the item(s) to be disposed of.
We will issue an authorized sticker to be placed on the item(s) indicating a pick-up date. The item(s) can then be placed at your curb the night before the scheduled pick-up. Any other household item (couch, cabinet, mattress, box spring, etc.) can be placed at your curb for pick-up on your regular trash day.
TV/MONITOR COLLECTION
These items will be part of our bulk trash pick-up and scheduled to be collected on your 2nd designated trash day (Thursday or Friday). The cost is $45.00 PER TV/monitor of ANY size. Items MUST be scheduled and paid for by Wednesday of that week at the Township Building, Administration Office (Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.). EXACT cash or check only. No money will be taken at the garage or by sanitation personnel. We will use neon stickers to identify items eligible for pick up, one sticker per item. For example, if 3 TVs/monitors are picked up, the resident will need three neon stickers and pay $35.00 per sticker/item. For additional information or support, please contact the Township Office at 610-534-4800.
YARD WASTE COLLECTION
In addition to the annual Fall Leaf Collection, Ridley Township will have a Yard Waste Collection on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026. Sticks, branches, and shrubbery trimmings will be collected curbside from all residential properties. The diameter of tree branches should be no wider than 4 inches, and bundles no longer than 4 feet. Residents may also drop off yard waste Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (excluding holidays), at the Township Maintenance Garage, located at 2nd & Sutton Avenues in Folsom.
RECYCLING INFO FOR BUSINESSES
Under the Township of Ridley’s Recycling Ordinance, businesses must report their annual recycling weight totals. The recycling totals should be submitted by the hauler for their trash and recycling. Completed PA Department of Environmental Protection forms should be returned by March 1 each year.
SINGLE-STREAM RECYCLING
Residents are requested to participate in Ridley’s Single Stream Recycling Program. All items listed below may be placed in one, clearly marked container and placed curbside.
Here are a few helpful hints:
-
WEDNESDAY is Recycling Day in Ridley Township
-
Recycling MUST be placed at the curb by 7 a.m.
-
DO NOT place any plastic bags out with your recycling. The plant that processes our recyclable materials will not accept any items in plastic bags.
Recyclable materials: Cartons, aluminum, and metal cans including #1,#2,#4,#5, and #7 plastic food & beverage containers (caps removed), phone books, newspapers, magazines, brochures & inserts (no plastic bags), paperboard boxes (cereal, pasta & tissue), greeting cards, regular & junk mail, glass bottles & jars, file folders, loose metal jar lids & steel bottle caps, paper towel rolls, and paperback books. No need to remove paper clips, stamps, address labels, staples, metal fasteners, cellophane address windows, rubber bands, spiral bindings, or plastic tabs.
Do not place scrap metal, plastic bags, plastic lids & caps, plastic 6-pack holders, needles or syringes, plastic microwave trays, window panes, mirrors, ceramics & Pyrex dishware, paint, pesticides, oil & cleansers, stickers or address label sheets, waxed paper or waxed cardboard, styrofoam or paper to-go containers, organic material, and food waste or electronic waste (batteries, cell phones, etc.) out with your recycling.
Latex paint is NOT hazardous waste. To safely dispose of latex paint, solidify the paint before placing it out with your trash. Remove the top from the can, place it outside, away from children and pets, and allow it to harden. If the can is full, place kitty litter in the can and stir until all the paint is absorbed. Empty, lidless cans should be placed in a box and put out with your regular trash.
