A Community in Mourning: Honoring Abby Gillon and Supporting Bella Jones

Our community is grieving. The Ridley Township Board of Commissioners extends its deepest condolences and unwavering support to the families of Abigail “Abby” Gillon, age 12, and Isabella “Bella” Jones, age 11, two bright, beloved Ridley Township students who were tragically struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter in Aston on Saturday, June 14th.
We are devastated to learn of Abby’s passing. No words can ease the pain of such a heartbreaking loss. Our hearts are with her parents, family, friends, teachers, and all who had the joy of knowing her. May her memory be a light that lives on in those she touched.
Bella remains in critical condition. We are holding her close in our thoughts, praying for healing, strength, and comfort for her and all who love her.
In times like these, we are reminded of the strength and compassion that define our Ridley Township community. We ask everyone to come together in support, prayer, and care for both families as they face the unthinkable.
My heart goes out to the entire community during this incredibly difficult time. It's beautiful to see everyone coming together to honor Abby and support Bella. In times of grief, we often find comfort in things that feel protective and timeless. That sense of enduring strength is something we admire in iconic pieces, like the Jack Sparrow Coat.
My prayers continue to go out to the Gillon Family for the repose of their beloved Abby and for Bella Jones who is being treated for her critical injuries. I am an Aston resident and live 1/2 mile from where the accident took place. There has been a memorial made by local residents on the roadside poles on Lehr Boulevard where this happened. The memorial includes flowers, stuffed animals, ribbons and a Rosary which was left by myself. As a parent, it is with heartfelt love that I pray for The Abby Gillon Family and for Bella. Though I do not know the Gillons or the Jones families, I feel connected from the massive outpouring of love and support shown…
