At their July meeting, the Ridley Township Board of Commissioners were honored to present a Certificate of Commendation to Ridley Township Police Officer Sara Howell.
On June 28th, the Glenolden Police Department and medics were dispatched to Ashland Avenue for a cardiac arrest of a one-year-old child due to a drowning in the bathtub. Officer Howell was nearby and responded along with Officer Paul of Glenolden. The victim was found to have a faint pulse and exhibited minimal signs of life. Both officers worked in tandem, administering life-saving techniques, including back blows, which induced the child to expel the ingested water.
The victim began crying, and a strong pulse was evident before being transported to CHOP. As a result of the swift response and appropriate actions taken by the first responders and other medical personnel, the child has made a full recovery.
